Finding Purpose in the Fire

Psalms 66:10-12

Teen, Family, Couples, Individual and Group Counseling

Counseling and therapy for the North Richland Hills, Keller, and North Fort Worth area.

We also offer statewide therapy services in Texas via telehealth from the comfort of your home.

At the Forge, we believe that people can change in the ways they desire to live the lives they want. We believe healing is possible, and we understand that sometimes people just need a little, or a lot, of help to get there. It is why we do what we do. We specialize in helping teens, families, couples, and individuals remember or create their goals, transform their current situation, and walk through life's fires together to find purpose. Life's too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. Let us help you find the purpose in the fire.

Teen Counseling

When Life is Missing Connection and Purpose

There are thousands of resources out there on how to parent a teen. Unfortunately there are not thousands of resources out there on how to make it as a teen. Relationships, school, pressure, anxiety, depression, substance use, self-harm, suicide, trauma, meaninglessness, and fear of the future are only a few issues teens face every day. At The Forge we believe that walking beside these young men and women as they face these challenges is essential to them finding their own healing through connection and purpose.

Family Counseling Services

When Life Happens

When one member of the family is struggling--so are the others. When the son's depression is hidden and looks like acting out in school, the daughter's grades are perfect and she breaks down over her recent B in class, when mom finds herself quiet and internally isolating from the family, and when dad is withdrawn from the family through his work, you can see that it isn't just a single person issue. At The Forge we view the family from a Family Systems approach, and we believe that when we come together to heal the hearts of each individual we heal the heart of the family.

Marriage and Couples Counseling

When Life Gets Difficult

Sometimes it is as simple as miscommunication, but often that is just the surface. When a partner feels stressed beyond belief, suffers depression, feels betrayed, when resentments pile up, and when both partners feel they are just "ships passing in the night" it is time to look beneath that surface. The pain of life, stress, depression, trauma, abuse, infidelity, and so much more take major tolls on relationships, and our closest relationships are affected the most. To look into another person's eyes and to commit to meeting on the therapist's couch shows that you are both willing to struggle through this together toward healing.

Individual Counseling

When Life isn't What You Thought it Would Be

Have you ever found yourself thinking this isn't how things were supposed to be. I can't seem to find my way. What is the point of all of this anyway? Sometimes we need someone to walk through life's difficulties with us. Sometimes we need someone to hear us. Sometimes we need someone to speak truth with us. At the Forge, we will help you live the life you want to live, find meaning, and help you find the purpose in the fires of life.

Group Counseling

DBT Skills and Support

Is one on one counseling something you are hesitant to try? Do you learn well from the experiences and stories of others? Would you like a safe place with multiple different people that will hear you and you them? Then maybe group counseling and skills training is the right fit for you. Sometimes it takes a tribe to heal a soul. Community, engagement, and understanding can be found with The Forge's group counseling through DBT based counseling and support groups.

"Perhaps having the courage to find a better path is having the courage to risk making new mistakes"

Robin Hobb from The Tawny Man Trilogy

Jeff is one of the most passionate counselors I know. Professionalism, sincerity, and kindness exude out of his personality. He is definitely one of the best counselors in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. I'm happy to call him a colleague and friend.
